Dr. Croft is the director of the Spine Research Institute of San
Diego and president of the Center for Research into Automotive
Safety and Health (CRASH). He has been actively engaged in
whiplash research for the past 19 years and has co-authored a
best-selling textbook on whiplash Whiplash Injuries: the Cervical
Acceleration/Deceleration Syndrome (now in its third edition), and
temporomandibular disorders (Whiplash and Temporomandibular
Disorders: an Interdisciplinary Approach to Case Management)
along with several other books, textbook chapters, and almost 300
professional papers. He is board certified in Orthopaedics
(American Board of Chiropractic Orthopaedists), Forensic
Medicine (American Board of Forensic Medicine), and Accident
Reconstruction Northwestern University's Traffic Institute), and has
also been appointed as an Independent Medical Examiner by the
state of California, where he also served as an Examination
Commissioner for the California Board of Chiropractic Examiners
from 1992-1998. Most recently he was appointed as a
Commissioner for Council on Chiropractic Guidelines and Practice
Parameters (CCGPP)
